PCI400C-D w/ embedded AMD PCI Network Controller

== For Novell Netware 3.1x LAN system ==

< Server under PCI400C-D system>

-Procedure 1-

 Copy the "PCNTNW.LAN" file from the driver diskette to the directory
where the Netware Server drivers is located.

-Procedure 2-

 Copy the following newer *.nlm files to the directory where the
Netware Server drivers is located:

MSM31X.NLM
MSM.NLM
ETHERTSM.NLM

 These files above are from Netware installation diskettes(or CDROM) or from
Novell Corp.

-Procedure 3-

 Add the following lines into the "AUTOEXEC.NCF" file.

load c:\server\pcntnw board=1 bustype=pci1 frame=ethernet_802.2 autosense
bind ipx to pcntnw net=xxxx

 The frame type can be ethernet_802.3 or others if there are not any
PCI400C-D clients which will boot from the BootROM.

-Procedure 4-

 If there are any PCI400C-D clients which will boot from the BootROM, add
the following two more lines into the "AUTOEXEC.NCF" file.

load RPL
bind RPL to pcntnw

 Of course, there should be the "RPL.NLM" file in the directory where the
Netware Server drivers is located.

 The "RPL.NLM" file is from Netware installation diskettes(or CDROM) or from
Novell Corp.

< MS-DOS 6.22 Client under PCI400C-D system >

 I. Boot from a local disk(floppy diskette or hard disk)

 Create a boot disk with configuration files as the following:

[CONFIG.SYS]
__________________________________________________

device=himem.sys    ........optional
dos=high,umb    ........optional
device=emm386.exe noems    ........optional
files=60
buffers=20
STACKS=9,256    ........optional
LASTDRIVE=Z
__________________________________________________

[AUTOEXEC.BAT]
__________________________________________________

@echo off    ........optional
prompt $p$g    ........optional
lh lsl.com
lh pcntnw.com
lh ipxodi.com
vlm
f:login    ........optional
__________________________________________________

[NET.CFG]
__________________________________________________

LINK DRIVER PCNTNW

       BUSTYPE can be PCI1 or PCI2
       FRAME Ethernet_802.2

AUTOSENSE

NetWare DOS Requester
        FIRST NETWORK DRIVE = F

(The frame type can be ethernet_802.3 or others.)
__________________________________________________

 II. Boot from BootROM

 -Procedure 1-

 Create a boot floppy diskette with configuration files same as the above.
But the frame type in the "NET.CFG" must be ethernet_802.2.

 -Procedure 2-

 Choose a client machine with a FDD and follow the following procedure to
create a image file on the Netware Server you want to login:

 a. Boot from that boot diskette. When you have attached the Netware Server,
    Type the following commands:

Login supervisor
MAP F:=SYS:SYSTEM
MAP G:=SYS:LOGIN
G:
F:DOSGEN .....for creating a image file named "NET$DOS.SYS"
COPY A:AUTOEXEC.BAT G:\LOGIN
FLAG G:\LOGIN\*.* ro s

 b. Logout the Netware Server and recall up the server system.

 c. Now you can boot by BootROM and login the Netware Server from any
    PCI400C-D client machine with the system BIOS with BootROM.
