U.S. ROBOTICS SYSOP DEAL PROGRAM FOR GERMANY AUSTRIA AND SWITZERLAND

GENERAL:

This section describes the rules of the U.S.Robotics SysOp Program for Germany Austria and Switzerland. U.S.Robotics has the right to modify or change these rules at any time without notice.

PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE ORDERING !!!

SCOPE OF THE SYSOP DEAL:

The U.S.Robotics SysOp Program permits QUALIFIED Sysops to purchase current USR products at a reduced price. The purpose of this program is to continue the close relationship established many years ago between U.S.Robotics and the SysOp community.

Participants should understand that our ability to continue the program is dependent upon the strong position U.S.Robotics enjoys in the reseller channel : Distributors and dealers, VARs, etc. that continue to buy and resell our products to home and business users around the world.

It is our intent to maintain the integrity of our distribution channels by consequently verifying each SysOp sale to ensure that we only sell products to qualified Sysops.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1) The SysOp states that he/she is not in the business of reselling computer products and/or related peripherals, including modems. Modems obtained in the Sysop Deal may not be used for commercial purposes. Violation of this policy will result in the Sysops being ineligible for future participation in the U.S.Robotics' SysOp program.
In addition, any warranties on modems resold without U.S.Robotics authorisation will be null and void.

Qualified resellers may take advantage of other programs offered by U.S.Robotics by calling our info-line 0130/81 63 83 for Germany, 0660/70 32 for Austria and 0800/80 80 01 for Switzerland.
printed: 26.02.96

2) The SysOp has been operating a Bulletin Board System for at least 1 month and this activity can be verified by dialling into the bulletin board system.
Typically user logs, activity logs, file base and local message bases are a good source for verifying activity.

3) The SysOp understands that the number of modems that may be obtained under this program is LIMITED TO THE NUMBER OF ACTIVE, VERIFIABLE DATA LINES.

DATA LINES MUST BE DEDICATED FOR MODEM USE ONLY AND MUST BE AVAILABLE 24 HOURS A DAY FOR MODEM ACCESS.

Modems purchased under this program MUST be used on one of the stated lines.

4) The SysOp agrees to install an appropriate USR logo which is, visible to ALL users of the bulletin board, and states that this bulletin board uses and supports U.S.Robotics products. The U.S.Robotics logo is included in the SYSODEAL.ZIP file in 3 formats:

   - ASCII
   - ANSI
   - RIP

5) The SysOp agrees that he/she intends to operate the bulletin board, for which these modems are purchased, for at least six (6) months post purchase. The USR logon must remain in effect for six (6) months to allow verification that the bulletin board is active and that the USR promotional message is being displayed.

6) The SysOp understands that processing of an order will take from ONE (1) TO FOUR (4) weeks depending on the number of orders being processed by the SysOp Support Department, and difficulty in verifying your bulletin board.
Shipment of product will take from ONE (1) TO FOUR (4) weeks depending on the availability of the particular product ordered. U.S. Robotics will ship product(s) to QUALIFIED SysOps as soon as possible after:

 A) The SysOp places his order by fax at USR Germany (+49 89 957 72 30).

After placing his order, a SysOp wishing to pay his/her order with checque, should send it to :

U.S. Robotics Deutschland GmbH
SysOp Program
Mnchner Str. 12
85774 Unterfhring
GERMANY

We only accept checque payments. We DO NOT accept CASH payments!

It is essential that the Sysop's name, address, voice phone number and BBS phone number(s) are correctly indicated for identification purposes. Also the account details for veryfication should be stated on the order.

 B) The SysOp understands that once an order is placed, it can NOT be changed.

 C) Your board will be verified by the U.S.Robotics SysOp Administrator. We MUST be able to connect with your bulletin board to verify board status.

7) U.S.Robotics will NOT accept orders by phone.

ADDENDUM : THE US ROBOTICS Courier V.34 Dual Standard

A Perfect modem for an imperfect world.

The Courier range of products is firmly established as a popular choice for the communications professional, looking for advanced performance at an affordable price. The Courier V.34 Dual Standard combines the very latest industry standards such as V.34 and V.FC together with features including dialback security, Class 2.0 fax and USR unique features such as HST and ASL.

A modem with the future built in.

In data communications, a "cutting edge" product can quickly become obsolete. That's why Courier is upgradable via Flash ROM - just download new software over the phone. You don't have to buy new modems for every new protocol: Courier has the future built-in.

All modems are not created equal.

Most manufacturers buy their components elsewhere. We design and build our own data pump, under the most stringent quality control and testing procedures. We make the most reliable ITU-T standard data pumps in the world.

Because high speed isn't enough.

Just because a modem is labeled high speed, that doesn't mean it's high performance, delivering the speed it claims. To achieve the highest possible throughput, a modem must be flexible and responsive to changing transmission conditions.
Universal Connect makes Courier the only V.Everything modem: it connects automatically with any other modem at that modem's highest speed.
Courier supports all international standards and popular proprietary protocols.
And USR's exclusive ASL- Adaptive Speed Leveling lets Courier adjust the speed of incoming and outgoing channels up or down to match changing line conditions. The modem that's right for you.

You want a modem that works, easily and reliably. That's Courier: CompuServe has standardized on Courier, more bulletin boards worldwide use Courier than any other modem.
Available everywhere...

U.S.Robotics offers you Tech Support, an on-line bulletin, and an international authorized reseller network. You really can find your Courier modem everywhere, and they are PTT approved in over 30 countries.

Courier V.34 Dual Standard: The most compatible high speed modem.
