DAC960P
1/2/3-Channel Disk Array Controller
 User Documentation
May, 1994

This document is intended to provide information necessary to begin using the DAC960P
controller. This document assumes that you are familiar with the Mylex
family of disk array controllers, their configuration and use. If this
is the first Mylex disk array you have used, you may need to refer to the
Intergaph Mylex DAC960 SCSI Disk Array controller manual.

Hardware Installation

Installation of the DAC960P PCI Disk Array Controller is much simpler than
EISA controllers. The instructions are as follows:

1. Insert the DAC960P in an available PCI bus master slot.
2. Start the system and invoke CMOS setup to confirm proper system
settings and to confirm that the PCI interrupts are not being used
by another EISA/ISA device. For more information, consult your
	system documentation.

Configuration

The DAC960P configuration utility, DACCF.EXE, is exactly the same as the
EISA utility (version 2.19) except for a couple of additional configuration
screens. Under the Advanced options menu, the following two items have
been added:

SCSI Xfr Parameters => Options for each SCSI channel
Data transfer rate => Sets the default SCSI negotiation rate
      10Mhz (Default)
      Options: 8Mhz, 5Mhz, Async.
Command tagging => May increase performance, but not compatible with
		      SCSI-1 drives.
      Enabled (Default)
      Options: Disabled

Startup Parameters
   Spin up option
Automatic (Default) - The DAC960P will issue power up commands to the
			    drives
Options: On Power - The DAC960P will not issue power up commands.
The drives need to spin up themselves at power on.
   Devices per spin
      2 (Default)
      Options: 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8
Delay (seconds) => Sets spin up delay between drives
      6 (Default)
      Options: 0, 12, 18, 24, 30
