The following initialization string is provided for use with
communications software that permit a modem initialization or
originate string. It is by no means the only string that can be
used, just the most effective. The following string includes
full error correction as well as full data compression for
maximum output. Please use this string if the software you are
using requests one or if you do not have a Hayes Ultra 14400
modem choice:

ATB0E1V1&F&C1&D2\A3\N6\Q3\V1%C1\J0

The following is a break down of the initialization string to
show what commands are performed:

AT Attention Characters
B0 Places the modem into a CCITT mode
E1 Turns "Echo Commands" to on
V1 Turns "Word Responses" to on
&F Recalls factory default configuration
&C1 Turn on Carrier Detect signal when remote carrier
&D2 signal is present
Modem hangs up, returns to the Command Mode, and
prepares for asynchronous operation following an ON to
\A3 OFF Data Terminal Ready transition
\N6 Selects a 256 character maximum MNP block size
\Q3 Enables V.42/MNP/Normal data link operation
\V1 Selects RTS/CTS signal bidirectional hardware flow
%C1 control
\J0 Turns "Send extended responses" to on
Enable MNP Class 5 or V.42bis data compression
Disable RS-232-C baud rate adjustment (Keep data rate

Please refer to your TurboModem Plus User's Guide for more
